A Compliment?

I was just reading a Wired article (link) about lonelygirl15, aka. Jessica Rose, when I came across this great paragraph. The best is the very last line.

There’s something about Jessica Rose that the webcam loves. Her distractingly large eyebrows and small round face are bent and stretched by the fish-eye lens into a morsel of beauty that fits perfectly in a pop-up window. That’s not to say she isn’t pretty off camera — she is — but every step she takes closer to the cam multiplies and enhances her looks. It’s a face made for the browser screen.

That last line is kind of interesting, it sounds very similar to the line “she has a face for radio”. Judging by the first part of the paragraph I’m sure that’s not what the author meant, but it is funny none the less.

Lonelygirl ruined your relationship

It started out with with just a few videos, then you subsribed to them and become a regular viewer. After a while you started sending in video replies to all of her video blogs, trying to help her with her issues. Then before you knew it you were losing sleep over this girl. She is so lonely, you didn’t want your girlfriend to know (because you’re girlfriend is really hot) So you would stay up until the wee hours of the morning watching lonelygirl15

Then, your worst nightmare. Your girlfriend catches you online in those wee hours and asks you why the hell are you awake now? This is how the conversation would go

Girlfriend: You have to be at work in 4 hours what are you doing?
You: noooooothing
Girlfriend: Is there another girl?
You: Not really
Girlfriend: Are you cheating on me?
You: Nooooooo
Girlfriend: Who is she?
You: NOBODY

Girlfriend leaves. Now you are just as lonely as lonelygirl15. You drown in your sorrows and you can’t even watch Bree anymore because it reminds you of the pain she caused. Then you start video blogging, Lonelyguy786. You live alone, spending every night on youtube.

You are right Shawn, that is a funny story.
